Hello, my name is Cynthia Alvarez and I am the school counselor.
Here is some information about me!
I was born in Mexico in a small town called Jerez Zacatecas. My family moved to Decatur when I was 9 years old. I graduated from Decatur High School in 2000 and was lucky enough to be able to go to Weatherford College in Decatur. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of North Texas, that is also where I graduated with my masters in Counseling with a practicum in Play Therapy.
In 2009 I had the wonderful opportunity to work for Bridgeport Intermediate School as a Bilingual teacher. I loved and enjoyed every single minute of it! Years ago, my career goal came true when I was given the opportunity to be the school counselor. Serving as the school counselor has been the highlight of my career.
I have been blessed professionally as well as personally with a beautiful family. I am the proud mom of two wonderful BHS students, Rigo and Miguel. We are a soccer/cross country family. You will see me in the stands cheering for the Bulls! #1FAN
Now that you know a little bit about me, come visit me any time. My door is open!
